The former Hotel Presidente (1968) is a building that was built with the ideals of modernity, including its insertion into a historical context; complemented by a diverse architectural program: hotel, offices, commercial premises and cinema. Even today, though no longer in operation, it remains one of the architectural icons of Arequipa's historic center.

Episode 2

Radar / Preexistencias

In its initial stage, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of San Agustín of Arequipa underwent significant changes and curricular reforms motivated above all by the ideals of the time, which were embodied in a new infrastructure, whose project was entrusted to the students of the 5th year Design Workshop
(1973), a singular event that portrays the collective spirit of those years. The building was completed in several phases, becoming the academic and educational habitat for various generations.

Episode 3

Radar / Atmóspheres

The Colca Lodge is a hotel planned in Yanque (Colca Valley - Arequipa) and is a reference point in the work of Álvaro Pastor. Its proposal stands out for: the intervention in the territory, the integration into the landscape, the essential materiality, the reinterpretation of the architectural typologies of the place and the atmospheres created.
